Welcome! My name is Yaressi Salgado."A journey through language" is a blog I designed for my class of 'Design and elaboration of didactic material' as well as for teachers and students. Teachers can benefit from my blog by learning more about didactic material (in this case flash cards) their uses, advantages and disadvantages, along with useful tips for using them when teaching a second language. Students will have access to online games where they can practice their English knowledge.

Example of flash cards
As an example of the use of flash cards I decided to make a set that can be used online or can be printed out as an activity for children. This set of flash cards consists of verbs in their base form. These flash cards can be used for many activities such as the following:
- An introduction of new vocabulary
- A review (if vocabulary has been seen previously)
- Dynamic game for students to act out the verbs, this can be done by having one student pass to the front, take out a flashcard and act it out so the rest of the class can guess what verb is it.
- A matching game for students to match the word with the picture.
- A review for students to work in pairs and practice the verbs.
These are just a few examples of the different uses a teacher can give to flash cards, with any level and any topic.
Procedure:
1. Visit the link: http://www.kitzkikz.com/flashcards/
2. Insert question, word or picture in the section 'Front' and the answer in the section 'Back'.
3. When finished adding the content of the flash cards, click on PDF.
4. You now have the option to simply view it or download it as PDF.
5. Once you download it, you may print it out and use it in the classroom activities.
